As a vital symbol of identity a national flag
speaks of pride in a collective spirit of
belonging. Belonging to a people
to a culture, a common history and ethos
of values invariably linked to spirituality.
The familiarity of its identity shouts out
to the world, here we are and here we mean
to remain for eternity for no internal divisions
and no external probes to test our resolve
can ever dislodge us. Take us for what we are
true to our own and a benefit to the world at large.
Its distinctiveness is symbolic of the diverse
nature of the people. This is a people that has
returned to its ancestral land and no earthly
power will ever separate them again. A land
that awaited retrieval from abandonment and
now abounds in the richness of abundance.
The flag signifies heritage and history, pain
and forbearance, hope and tragedy, above all
the endurance of a people committed to
themselves and their imperishable will.
