Defining Dysphoria

Image

Well hello there. You're quite the figure.

Big and brawny. The quintessential figure

in fact of a well-endowed male of the

human species. But I understand. We all

at one time or another in our lives feel out

of sorts, put out, dissatisfied with the hand

genetics has dealt us. In your case, I see, a

heavy hand where you prefer a more delicate

one. How is that described in a dictionary?

Let's see: 'A state of unease or generalized

dissatisfaction with life'. Well, sure, some

people are fixated on wealth, on notoriety

on celebrity. Others want to be beautiful

unhappy with what the mirror tells them. Not

too many, I suspect yearn to be intellectually

brilliant. Some, though see themselves as

exceptionally talented athletes yet competing

in their field as they were born is unfulfilling

since they weren't born champions. Oh, yet

another dictionary descriptive of dysphoria:

"Adolescents with depression, dysphoria, mania

and anxiety disorders." Is that you? Taken all

together preferring to ignore biology and log

into another gender conferring entitlements

otherwise unattainable  --  is that fulfilling?
