There was a time when private opinions remained
that way. When those in trust were known to
speak vicariously for those unable to speak for
themselves in public. Private conversations meant
for private ears. Not to be divulged. One's Janus
countenance merely glimpsed. Trust and belief
secured in the public realm remained that way.
Sudden outbursts of heedless exposure illuminating
character out of character. Visceral reactions
leading to forbidden statements the road to actual
perdition. That was then. This is now when acute
online sleuthing reveals all radiating from the dark
web directly to social media where legacy media
inherits and displays all the foibles and misdemeanours
of careless commitments; the oblivious become odious
for there is no cave of mind deep and dark enough
to shield reality from emerging to the light of
discovery. A new bible of social illiteracy revealed.
