Canadian Author & Bookman, 1979 Issue number four

Herewith, the latest selection from dusted-off published poetry and short fiction, circa 1970s vintage and beyond....

Despite I Feel So Young

Despite I feel so young
a virtual companion
to our offspring
the mapwork of my face
is runnelled deep
with entrenched rivulets
an origami craftwork
of nature's capricious
design.

And sometimes
I just cannot reconcile
the inside of me
that wellspring of youth
with the image
that stares back so
unfamiliarly
from that mirror
your eyes.
