Is it a human trait to be deliberatelyoblivious, or are we generally just soinnocently naive that we believe whatis happening will be finite and all thatwe know as familiar and comfortingthe routines that modern life has givenus through our own limitless inventivecapabilities will shortly return and thegrave threat that now exists to humanity'sfuture destined to disappear as we dealwith its challenges successfully as alwayswe somehow manage with ingenuity todo. Just another of nature's trials sentto test adaptability and resourcefulness.Though we bitterly regret a temporarysetback in our advance to an ever moreprosperous, exciting future with stridesin enhanced and advanced technologynot yet imaginable, we believe implicitlythat this too shall pass. Conveniently weset aside other challenged areas of graveconcern, not the least early experimentsdemonstrating aptly the way humanityis scheduled to annihilate itself, courtesygrim predictions of the Doomsday Clock. As conspiracy theories go nature herselfhas wagered her creation will self-destructlong before the assigned best-before date.
