Sanctum Sanctorum

Welcome. This is my laboratory and I am

its chief chemist. The chamber that holds a

sacred place in a home housing people who

love one another where one among them may

choose to award the other for conduct becoming

the heart and centre of the other's soul. And

to that end recognizing the forbearance and

helpfulness that has been the fulcrum of life

the scaffold of all that matters in two lives

for 65 all-too-short years. From the refrigerator

is extracted a sweet yeast dough to roll on a

floured countertop to a rectangle upon which

is smoothed butter then brown sugar, cinnamon

and raisins scattered. Thereupon rolled to enclose

the filling, sliced into rounds and fitted into a

baking dish to be re-refrigerated and in the morning

brought out to bake to produce a sweet and

fragrant breakfast treat, reflective of the many

years of sweet and fragrant mutual love.
