Flaunting the conceit of victimhood whose
time has come those who claim the attention
of the sanctimonious righteous have become
the cause celebre of the times. Petulant and
vengeful, with skilled play on the heartstrings
of the achievers in academia the social sciences
and politics they have become the darlings
of a new mode of social conduct manipulating
opinion in the emotional acceptance of upturning
normalcy in hushed respect for the abnormal. In
the process discarding normalcy as an undeserved
privilege of the many now reserved for the few
whose rights and entitlements now deprive the
mainstream from entering the vaunted streams
of accomplishment once reserved for them as
representative of the ordinary straining to achieve
their potential. Now with lesser endowments
but emotional fragility that twists the empathetic
heart of visionaries it is those confused and
uncertain orientations toward whom privilege is
extended, unearned yet entitled because their
condition demands due they take from others.
