Fulfilling Destiny

The foundational motivating force
behind humanity's success
as the premier animal? Summed
up as eros, ego and aggression.
It would take a genius to identify
that innate tripartate architecture
of motivation, and another to
deplore that which nature bestowed
and which cannot be undone. In
a tandem of agreement and sorrow
those two geniuses could find no
remedy to rectify what imperial
nature had designed. The very thought
that Einstein and Freud collaborated
on a discussion meant to solve
the endurance of conflict and
man's inhumanity to man was
edifying, if unsurprisingly rancid
and so we are left with what we have
a timeless bearing of arms, an elusive
yearning for peace burdening the
world and its inhabitants for there is
no release, no haven, no realistic
expectations mankind will ever
escape its inheritance not now, not ever.
Darwin's evolutionary theory should
have humankind disposing of itself
through the auspices of its ongoing
expeditionary forces of conquest from
every conceivable existential source.
