Curiosity, wonder and imagination has been
the companion to evolutionary design from the
perspective of the human mind to the development
of the complex brain that drives humanity to look
beyond and above -- within and without to find
its place in the universe. The implacable drive to
know and to discover leads the human animal in its
endless exploration of self and beyond. That drive
arises from early development of the species
alongside the passage of a lifetime from wondering
child to established maturity. The most commonplace
curiosity is that teasing a girlchild to the mysteries
of being a boychild, imagining the future from male
to female, from female to male. Imaginary as these
whimsical transitions were in most part in the past
they have devolved to stir society to collective guilt
of a child's passing fancy. Where in the present the
die is cast with the child's murmur of dissent and
parental assent setting off a cultural social firestorm
of transitional gender reversals and strangely enough
accelerated episodes of suicide. Sacrificing children on
the altar of submission to normalize the abnormal.
