Character reveals itself early in life. It is only
later that lack of character becomes evident.
From their youngest days children distinguish
themselves as imbued with principle and a sense
of justice while others betray themselves with
all the signs of defiance of social mores and
rejection of 'normalcy'. The argument revolving
around nature and nurture aside, briefly view
any child's actions and reactions and you know
the future adult. No amount of exposure to values
reflecting mores of social grace is capable of
re-patterning that genetic endowment of opposition
disinterest and resentment ushering a mind
resistant to altering its subconscious fully
autonomous and comfortable with itself away from
complacency. Conscience absent, acute awareness
of self equals satisfaction in a mind fixed in the amber
of sociopathy -- certain to go far in this world.
