Benedict, my friend and child of god
have you ever known the love of a dog?
Has it been your good fortune
to cherish a creature your god
created alongside humanity?
Do you imagine yourself
an authority in creation
advising your worldly flock
to abandon their choice of
pets as opposed to the virtue
of parenting children to
further populate this globe?
Biostatisticians at one point
painted parents as selfish for
having offspring in an overpopulated
and barely fed world community.
Now in your great good wisdom
you advise the childless to
abandon their pets in favour of
bringing more children into this
worn and weary, afflicted world.
Benedict, dear man never having
fathered a child why do you
deprive yourself of a loyal, loving dog?
