Entropy, flux, movement, change
are the dynamics that spin the Universe.
Nothing remains as it is, everything
alters, grows, retracts, becomes
other than it was. So it is in the vast
dimensions of space and time. We
learn the latest news from outer space
the discovery of a galaxy born hundreds
of millions of years ago. And here, on
our modest little globe, Earth has
given rise to another country, a
country of tens of millions of souls
lost to their countries of origin, as
they gather in a huge plurality of
ethnicities, religions, regions and
cultures all derived from humankind's
inevitable penchant for exclusion, conflict
and striving for dominion over one another.
The new country is a strange one, with
outposts across continents, its people
settling with one another, having little
in common from one sprawling 'city'
to another, all part of this new country
with but one element they share; a grief
for their places of origin and dreadful
regret that they have become displaced
persons, the population of this strange
new country of refugeedom: Refugium.
