November's Entry

November entered the seasonal
playbill rudely, with its power
assertion of no-nonsense wind
and rain, impervious to the
gentler transition of October
offering copensatory visions
of glowing autumnal foliage
their colour variations enhanced
by ample sun, an ameliorating
gesture of October that November
brusquely, with the authority
of presage invested by nature,
heralding winter onset, rejects. 
Morose days of dim light, damp 
cold and rehearsals of ice- and 
snow-storms preparing us for 
the onset of a forlorn adieu to
benign and light-filled days.
