Total Surrender
He is defenceless againstmy intention to bringsome semblance of orderto his shallow apricot pelt, too long ungroomed, andhe guised as a neglectedorphan. Tiny and defencelesshe has no option but tosubmit after the first fewfeeble protests, snarls andabsurdly bared teeth. On mylap he sprawls, scissorsclicking, light fuzz fallingaway, the sun warming usboth, the sound of a cardinalsweetly distant, and in amoment he is completelycompliant, held fast in aslumber of total surrender.
