Who Knew?
Of a certainty there was no
witness to the silence of
dark nothing. And nor was
there one when nothing
changed into something.
That monumental moment
in time and endless space
when the Universe was born.
Familiarly known as the
Big Bang, yet who observed
the blast of the swirling
chemical brew? Who heard
the primordial yelp of existence?
And as the cosmos expanded
begetting stars and planets
of countless scintillating array,
who knew? Was there a universal
mind, an intelligence to
guide the formation of stellar
bodies over their hundreds of
millions of years of evolution?
