Introspective Communing

Even in solitude and the silence
it brings, the conversation continues
replete with reminiscences of the
past, the glow of the present and
expectations of the future, exploring
and evaluating life's episodes
considering outcomes and pleasures,
indulgences and repercussions
a retrospective of the gallery of
photographs engraved in memory
and neatly arrayed in a chronology
describing the evolution of a
singular life. These intimate
conversations with mind and
memory timeless as life itself
repeat and repeat as I resemble a
sphinx, at rest and in peace with
itself, commemorating the triumph
of measureless shared existence.
