The Long Approach
The murmuring hush of thewind blowing long, greenleafy streams hanging from theMulberry weeping in the humid heatof the day presages the passage ofdarkening clouds sliding over theblue sky, obscuring the sun'sfurious furnace. The reds andpinks of petunias and impatiensglow shades darker, the paper-whitemulti-blossomed begonias morewhite than white on the green-enhancedbackground, as the glow deserts thesky so it glowers instead, influencedby ash-shaded clouds crowding theheavens, issuing due warning in everincreasing decibels; a thunderstormon the march to relieve parched soil.
