expand yourself in a place
unknown yet to you. Speak
to yourself and be a ready
listener, accept the challenge
of what lies there, foreign
to your experience, and go.

You will recognize the sky
there, it will be different,
though cluttered with clouds
familiar with densely descending
rain, and alternately a blistering
sun drying the atmosphere;
similar but not the one you
intimately know. There, indulge
in searching nature's grandeur.

Alone, yes, but not lonely; you
will meet and speak to someone
with whom you have all in
common yet rarely deeply
addressed: yourself. Revel in
the vast landscape, the meadows
and mountains, valleys and lakes,
existing, you see, quite outside
the realm of your feverish mind.
