Grieving Nature

What a strange world this has become,
where we have re-positioned from
compassionately deploring the misfortune
of nature's inherited quirks to celebrating
and
normalizing that which is by any
measure of adaptation to the bizarre
and subnormal construed as ordinary
in the annals of human experience.

Our misfortune as a race is that among
us are legions acutely dissatisfied
with the biology of their genetic
inheritance from colour to physiognomy,
character to gender. Whose life mission
to achieve satisfaction is to
alter
what nature designed. The conceit of the
same-gendered lovers to normalize their
union through the sacrament of the
institutionalized covenant of marriage.

The decision by those insistent in their
belief that nature erred unforgivingly in
designating their unwanted genders by
pursuing gender re-assignment
through
surgical intervention and a hormonal
pharmacopoeia. Females re-aligning their
destinies to live out their lives as males
and mating with those who have
similarly exercised those options.

Are we, the greater society, amused or
bemused when a transgendered male
opts to retain his original-endowed female
organs to facilitate pregnancy
through
in vitro fertilization, gives birth,
proceeds to breastfeed in public,
presenting as wholly male, appropriately
bearded, suckling his self-delivered child?
