Yisroel Renascent

An ancient home for an ancient
people. From the wide diaspora they
returned, from the ashes of death
and desperation they turned back
from whence they came, the ancient
lamentation of return by the waters
of Babylon yearning to recover that
which was theirs in antiquity, a people
dispossessed and dispirited by a world
uncaring viewing the never-ending
hostility alongside lethal punishment
meted out to the world's perennial
pariahs, searching for haven and
finally finding it on return to Zion.
Surrounded by tribal and religious
enmity led by marching armies
intent on annihilation, they still
prevailed, unwilling to once again
become the legendary Wanderers as
of old. Battered and bruised, slandered
and set-upon by malevolent forces the
land of the Jews remains defiant and
adamant; there is nowhere else they
must move onward to having resettled
where divine destiny meant them to be.
