The Shepherd's Message

He speaks, the world listens and
gives heed. He is, after all, the world's
leading moral authority, an intimate of
the Almighty. And when he laments the
manufacturing of armaments as a cause of
world conflict, forgiving the nature of man
cleaving to hostility, belligerence and war
emerging from the existential instincts
that mystic power bestowed upon its
creatures, dissonance may seem to raise
its head, but who really knows since
the ultimate arbiter of wisdom speaks
with full confidence. Even within the
sphere of human health and longevity
this exalted man of infallible wisdom as
wide as is his corporeal girth, speaks to
his admiring throng of worshippers as he
advises they 'be active, help others, spread
the faith' an age-old message of Christian
faith, augmented by additional advice:
'Don't get comfortable in your armchair;
that makes you fat and is bad for cholesterol'.
Has anyone yet explained that to his holiness?
