Seasonal Change

The winds of seasonal change
carefully fulfilling nature's
directions, entered a forest
landscape burdened with
fall rain and cold nights
hastening chlorophyll depletion
within the leafy canopy 
bragging in a vibrant palette 
of lime and orange, cherry
and peach, the fruits of autumn
ripening and drifting with
each compelling wind gust in 
a colourful rehearsal
parodying the chill blasts
of senior winter squalls
of copious drifting snowfalls.
