Mixed Messages

Some in science with a
seemingly mystical bent
appear to believe that by
some mysterious stratagem
of nature a process of
gene-wandering occurs
whereby people harbour
within themselves instincts
and inherited proclivities
foreign to the predominant
genetic codes they bear. 
Deep within may appear
restive souls motivated by
these unmatched genes
perhaps accounting for the
dismal and unfortunate
phenomenon so troubling
in psyches, whereby a visible
gender by obvious physical
markers becomes the anguished
bane of the opposite sex's
unwillingness to conform
to nature's mixed message
dominating their lives.
