Gusto, Summer 1978

Herewith, the latest selection from dusted-off published poetry and short fiction, circa 1970s vintage and beyond....

Vision

All the length of our days
you charged my air
with the passion of life
and our time was a
sharing experience.

Only lately I've noticed
at night beside me
you lie subdued,
not yourself.

Dynamo, where are you?
You lie here, clutching sleep,
electric presence absent.

I see that you and I
now practise nightly solitude
for the command performance.
