You are here, there.
Everywhere I am,
there you too are
to be found. At night,
when I am asleep,
the dark mare of a
night fright pries open
my sleeping eyes
to fear. But you,
beside me, soothe
the vanished demon.
When dawn sends
gentle fingers of
light to lift my eyes
to the waking world,
there are your eyes,
regarding me, softly
wrinkled in a smile
to once again
open my day.
