You are my friend of 
long standing and to a
certain degree your friendship
is valued as a level of trust
has been established
between us. We
communicate quite regularly,
you regaling me
with quips truly comical
and light renditions of life's
stark moments of truth.
When on rare occasion
it behooves me as a duty
of conscience as a moral
imperative to commemorate
and memorialize a tragic
human event of epic
dimension that I bring
to your reluctant attention
as a too-dreary recall
disturbing your
lightness of being --
