That Ancient Curse of the Jews

The broad nature of humanity is nothing if

not capricious. And nothing quite unsettles

humanity than conditions of tolerable stability.

It is, quite simply put, boring when all is well

when sweetness and light prevail, when disparate

tribes, beliefs, customs, traditions and heritage

fail to collide, historical enmities subside and

the group choice leans toward avoidance of

conflict between nations, values and religious

adherence; all subdued in the greater interests

of alignment of trade and prosperity yet it rankles

when the frisson of outrage, blame, threats and

military campaigns have too long been shelved

until the dam of patience breaks and the popular

flavour of the day in the universal hunt for mass

excitement redeems that hoariest call to action in

resurrection of that ancient curse of the Jews.
